Le matériel d’armement et de sécurité basique d’un navire de plaisance comprend au minimum les éléments suivants :
2. Un dispositif lumineux.
Celui-ci peut-être :
– collectif. Il est alors constitué d’une lampe torche étanche ayant une autonomie d’au moins 6 heures ;
– ou individuel en ce cas :
il doit être étanche et avoir une autonomie d’au moins 6 heures ;
il doit être soit porté soit fixé à l’équipement individuel de flottabilité mis à la disposition de la personne embarquée ;
il peut être de type lampe flash, lampe torche ou cyalume.

2.2.3 Appareils lumineux des brassières de sauvetage
2.2.3.1 Chaque appareil lumineux de brassière de sauvetage doit :
avoir une intensité lumineuse qui ne soit pas inférieure à 0,75 cd dans toutes les directions de l’hémisphère supérieur ;
être alimenté par une source d’énergie capable de fournir une intensité lumineuse de 0,75 cd pendant 8 h au moins ;
être visible sur un secteur aussi large que possible de l’hémisphère supérieur lorsqu’il est fixé à la brassière de sauvetage ; et
être de couleur blanche.
2.2.3.2 Si l’appareil lumineux visé au paragraphe 2.2.3.1 est un feu à éclats, il doit en outre :
être pourvu d’un interrupteur à déclenchement manuel ; et
lancer un nombre d’éclats par minute qui ne soit pas inférieur à 50 et ne soit pas supérieur à 70, avec une intensité lumineuse effective d’au moins 0,75 cd ».
