SURVITEC AWARDED SEAWORK SPIRIT OF INNOVATION AWARD IN THE SAFETY CATEGORY WITH THE NEW-TO-INDUSTRY ROPE ACCESS 3D 275N LIFEJACKET

Survitec’s Crewsaver Rope Access 3D 275N lifejacket has been awarded the Spirit of Innovation award (Safety and Training category) at Seawork International 2017 in Southampton.

On presenting the award Jake Frith, Chairman of the judging panel commented ‘Our winner amalgamates the very best existing technologies to make a package that is suitable for a specific commercial application.’

The ergonomic 3D lifejacket is a world first and was designed closely with wind energy operators to create a lifejacket that not only meets the demands of those working at height, but also offers the ultimate in comfort and in-water performance.
The sculpted garment embraces the shape of the wearer and also includes a unique back-strap arrangement to facilitate the integration of any fall arrest harness, foam-padded cover for impact protection and soft-activation tabs to prevent snagging which can lead to accidental inflation.

The heavy-duty material maintains longevity, while a quick-burst zip with three burst points helps prevent foreign objects from getting into the operating system. The lifejacket has an easy-to-replace cover system allowing the wearer to replace the outer cover easily when required. Spare covers can be purchased separately including fire retardant, heavy duty and wipe clean options.

Should the wearer unexpectedly fall into the water, they’re protected by a range of safety solutions, including:

  • Airway protection
  • Exceptional turning speeds
  • Unrivalled freeboard
  • Inflatable chin support
  • Location & recovery
  • Twin lifting points
  • SOLAS approved light, whistle & reflective tape
  • PLB & AIS compatible

Nigel Parkes, Survitec Design Manager, commented: “Winning this award recognises that at Survitec we are driving innovation forward, as well as ensuring safe lifejacket use is at the heart of everything we do.”
